Packing Instructions for Installing 7' ESS Frames in Vertical Packs
  1. Move cargo straps clear of deck.
  2. Slide (2) moveable clamping blocks (part 3) to extreme outward position.
  3. On each of the moveable clamping blocks, there are two width adjustment tangs. Slide these to their extreme outward position.
  4. Lower the frame onto approximate center of deck. If necessary, remove 4 lag bolts and plywood end as shown and remove one moveable clamping block to allow for easier installation of the frame.
  5. Slide moveable clamping blocks inward to contact frame and tighten (4) bolts on ends to secure, for details see dado trusses/clamping block page.
  6. Slide width adjustment tangs inward to contact frame and tighten (4) bolts to secure. (On the 196V5 and l99VS there are two intermediate hold down blocks, which must be rotated into position and secured by tightening one bolt in each block.)
  7. * Place desiccant bags at various locations on the unit, then place the anti-static bag over the unit and over the side rails to contact the deck. Note the polyethylene foam perimeter at the base of the side rails. Tape the humidity indicator at a location where it is visible through the bag.
  8. * Tightly wrap 1" wide strapping tape around the base of the bag, compressing the foam to form a seal.
  9. Place (2) corrugated scored sheets on the 4eck, up against the side rails, with the printed panel of each sheet on the outside. Place one tipping indicator at the center of one length panel and one width panel.
  10. Secure the scored sheets around the base with squarehead nails.
  11. Locate (3) dado trusses on top of the frame, one approximately centered, and one at each end. Secure the scored sheets with squarehead nails into the ends of the wooden blocks.
  12. Put cap in place.
  13. Secure cap with cargo straps. Refer to Cargo Strap Buckling Instructions. * Disregard steps 7 and 8 when anti-static bags and desiccant are not used.
